Travis Haas McCann is a local Dallas realtor and artist who currently holds residency at TBD Dallas. He was born in Walnut Creek, California and grew-up in Colleyville, Texas. His art origins stem from beginning photography at age 12, but not revisiting the art until recent years while living in a Deep Ellum loft, which he credits for stimulating his creativity. Shortly after his arrival in Deep Elum, he began printing his photographs and was inspired to add to them, which is when he began to cross over in to paint and combine the two. With his mother being a photographer and his parents living on the Caribbean island of Curaçao for the past decade, his love of the island and its people is reflected in many of his works. He enjoys paying homage to some of the art greats, such as Andy Warhol and Jean-Michael Basquiat, while still adding his personal abstract and street art touch. If there are a few words he could pass along it would be "to be who you want to be. Life is short and you have the ability to create the life you want. Take chances and enjoy the present moment, because that is all you ever have. You do this, you will not only change your life for the better, but you will also change the lives around you. "
